1. About these terms

MeowPulse uses AI. Dr. Meow is an AI character, not a person, and not a licensed veterinarian. What MeowPulse tells you is general information, not veterinary advice. Ask a licensed veterinarian for any medical decision about your cat. In an emergency, contact a veterinary emergency service immediately.

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL_ENTITY_PLACEHOLDER] ("we", "us") about using MeowPulse. By using MeowPulse you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy at meowpulse.app/privacy. If you don't agree, please don't use MeowPulse.

2. Who can use MeowPulse

You must be at least 13, or at least 16 in the EEA and the UK, and able to agree to these terms where you live.

3. Your account

• You can sign up with Apple, Google or an email address.
• Keep your login safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}} if you think someone else is using it.
• Give true information, and keep it up to date.
• One account per person. Don't make extra accounts to get more free uses.

4. What MeowPulse is, and what it isn't

• Translations are best guesses from a few seconds of sound, shown as "Likely". They are general information about your cat, not a diagnosis.
• Dr. Meow is an AI character. He can help you think things through and prepare for a vet visit. He doesn't examine, diagnose, prescribe or treat. He can be wrong.
• The Medical Card, Health Overview and reports summarize what you and Dr. Meow logged. They are not a medical record made by a veterinarian, and not a diagnosis.
• Pain or distress sounds: when a sound reads as pain or distress, MeowPulse shows safety steps and suggests contacting a veterinarian. A reading can be missed. If you're worried about your cat, contact a veterinarian. Don't wait for the app.
• Emergencies: contact a veterinary emergency service immediately. Don't rely on MeowPulse in an emergency.
• Reminders and alerts can be delayed or not arrive (phone settings, quiet hours, connection). Don't rely on them for anything time-critical, such as when to give a medicine.

5. The free plan and Pro

Free plan. Each week you get 5 Dr. Meow consultations and 10 translations, shared across all your cats. The week starts on Monday at 00:00 UTC, which is Sunday afternoon or evening in the Americas. A sound that reads as pain or distress is always translated, even when your 10 are used up. Daily check-ins are always free.

Pro includes unlimited Dr. Meow consultations, unlimited translations, a weekly super report for each cat, and the Medical Card PDF. To keep the service working for everyone, we may limit very heavy use, for example more than 100 consultations in one day.

Prices. The App Store shows the price for your country, in your currency, before you buy. Prices differ by country.

Free trial. Where it's offered, first-time subscribers get 7 days free. You're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Apple decides who is eligible, usually once per Apple ID.

Renewal and cancelling. Pro renews automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of a period to avoid the next charge. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. If you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds are governed by App Store policy.

Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Apple tells you before it applies and, where its rules require, asks you to agree.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your App Store account settings first.

6. Using MeowPulse fairly

Don't:

• break the law, or use MeowPulse to harm an animal;
• copy, take apart or try to get the source code of the app;
• use bots or scripts with MeowPulse, or overload it;
• try to get into other people's accounts or our systems;
• present what Dr. Meow says as a veterinarian's opinion;
• try to get around the free plan's limits or the safety features.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

7. Your content

• What you put in MeowPulse stays yours: photos, recordings, notes and messages.
• You let us store and process it only to run MeowPulse for you, as the Privacy Policy explains. We don't use it to train AI models.
• Only add content you have the right to share.
• When you share a card or a report link, you decide who sees it. Anyone with a report link can see that report for 30 days.
• If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

8. Our app

MeowPulse, Dr. Meow, our designs and our software belong to [LEGAL_ENTITY_PLACEHOLDER]. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices. These terms don't give you any right to our name or logos.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings, then Delete Account. Your account is then scheduled for deletion, and you have 30 days to change your mind by emailing {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}. After that, your account and its data are deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains.

We may close an account that breaks these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop running MeowPulse. If we stop running MeowPulse, we will tell you in advance where we can.

Sections 4, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 still apply after an account ends.

10. Disclaimers

MEOWPULSE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE MAKE NO PROMISES THAT IT WILL ALWAYS WORK, BE ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TRANSLATIONS, DR. MEOW'S REPLIES OR REPORTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RIGHT FOR YOUR CAT.

11. Limits on our liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSSES, LOST DATA OR PROFITS, OR HARM TO YOUR CAT OR ANY ANIMAL THAT COMES FROM RELYING ON MEOWPULSE INSTEAD OF A VETERINARIAN. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IS LIMITED TO WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD 10, WHICHEVER IS MORE. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS RIGHTS YOU HAVE BY LAW AS A CONSUMER.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION_PLACEHOLDER]. If there's a disagreement, please email us first: most things can be fixed that way. Otherwise the courts of [JURISDICTION_PLACEHOLDER] decide. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you can also go to the courts where you live.

13. Apple

If you got MeowPulse from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for MeowPulse, its content, support, or any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as a third party.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before. If you don't agree, stop using MeowPulse and delete your account before the change takes effect.
